What We Love

  • We absolutely LOVE being right next door to the historic Country Club of Pittsfield, also one of the most beautiful places on earth.
  • We’ve had some unforgettable parties with friends here, but The Morewood was truly designed for weekend family gatherings and holidays.
  • We cherish breakfast on the terrace as the sun rises over the gardens, mountains, and fairways. As each season draws to a close, we eagerly anticipate the next: the rebirth of spring, the endless display of colors from the perennial beds and gardens through the summer, the most dramatic and beautiful Fall Foliage we’ve ever seen, and a virtual Winter Wonderland.
  • 4. Of course, we love our central location, a few minutes away from everything throughout Berkshire County. In downtown Pittsfield, we have music and arts festivals, the Barrington Stage, the Colonial Theatre, Berkshire jazz concerts, and so many galleries and restaurants. We’re also a few minutes away from Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Company, and Capital Steps.
  • 5. I bought this “Pros & Cons” pad. Works with everything. Really, try it. I objectively weighed it all. The decision we made in August of 1993 to buy the collapsing Morewood mansion was the best we’ve ever made. The Morewood is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s true. I’ll lend you my pad.

This Grand and impeccable gilded age mansion sits on 11 acres on the gateway to Pittsfield, the Berkshires' major commercial center ,and is adjacent to the Pittsfield Country club golf course.
